WFH Tip: Nope. Not Today.
Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought, “Nope. Not today.?” I think we’ve all been there. When you wake up in the morning, and you just can’t bear the idea of getting up and going to work, you probably have strategies you use to get yourself going. You may need to develop some new strategies for this issue, now that you are working from home and your bed/couch/TV are so easily accessible from your work zone.
We all have different things that help us shift our moods, and it’s a good idea to put some thought into what works for you. It might be that you need to focus on being present for a few minutes, like focusing on your breathing. Sometimes a quick gratitude exercise is helpful. There are so many people right now that have lost their jobs, perhaps focusing on gratitude for your ability to continue your work from home might help.
One strategy that almost always works for me is listening to music. Sometimes it’s a song that reminds me of a great time in my life or just something upbeat that gets me moving. I drag myself into the shower and blast something on my bluetooth speaker, and usually I’m ready to get down to work once I’m dressed.
So breathe it out. Or dance it out. Or whatever works for you.
